WHAT: For teens around Northeastern Ohio, Spring is typically the season when many turn to thoughts of taffeta dresses, tuxedos, and corsages. Prom night… a special experience for most teenagers to dress up and dance the night away with their friends.

But what do you do if you are going through chemotherapy? If you have lost your hair? Or, you are just too ill to attend your schools prom?

When they arrive, they will be welcomed Hollywood-style by WKYCs Hollie Strano, who will serve as this years red carpet mistress of ceremonies along with Q104 morning host Allan Fee. Each teen can bring one guest – either a date, sibling or friend; but with one stipulation – NO parents are allowed (so the teens can really experience their prom without parents hovering).

The prom is free-of-charge to the children and their families, thanks to the assistance of sponsors and donations. Everything from tuxedos, dresses, hair and make-up, door-to-door limousine transportation, prom photos, food, music and more are all being provided.

Fee Returns as Prince Prospero in Masque of the Red Death Party this Month in Akron
    Monday October 10, 2011

AKRON, Ohio (October 10, 2011) –On Saturday, October 29, 2011 The Masque of the Red Death, a Halloween party like no other, will return to the Akron Civic Theatre on Saturday, October 29, 2011. The macabre masquerade party, hosted by the Akron Civic Theatre and Evant Inc, is a unique Halloween celebration for adults based loosely on Edgar Allan Poes tale of decadence and devastation.

The dynamic event debuted last year with a stunning turnout of bold, beautiful, fanciful and fantastically costumed attendees. Attendees will experience delicious food, drinks and dancing paired with paranormal, psychic and astrological readings from DJ Ownbey (Love Psychic), Teena Angellique and Shirley Workman (Tarot Cards and Palmistry), Rita Risser (Mayan Astrologist), Rev. Liz Madsen (Pet Psychic) and Nikki Rettman (Henna Tatoo Artist), macabre portraiture by Andrew McAllistar, spontaneous arts performances and the live music provided by Cult of the Psychic Fetus.

In the story, Poe tells of a country ravaged by a hideous plague, the Red Death. Undaunted by this pestilence, Prince Prospero (played by Allan Fee of Q104) called to his castle those of the upper caste to wait out the plague behind lofty walls and locked gates. After a few months of seclusion, the Prince held an opulent masked ball for his friends. On the cusp of midnight, an uninvited guest arrives at the party... the Red Death itself. To add intrigue to the night, a game may be played by the revelers who wish to “unmask” death. Details of the event and instructions for the game will be unveiled on the party website at www.reddeathparty.com.

Guests may attend the party from 9:00pm to 1:00am for $50. The $50 ticket includes admission, food, beer, wine and signature beverages and access to paranormal readings. A VIP option is available which includes valet parking, a portrait picture, an exclusive pre-party with paranormal readings, open bar and express drink service for $100.00. You must be 21 to enter. Tickets are available at the Akron Civic Theatre Box Office (330) 253-2488 or online at www.reddeathparty.com.

Once again, Allan Fee has been talked into another role at The Akron Civic Theatre. This time heading up Al Capones gang at a major fundraiser for the theatre.

PUTTIN ON THE RITZ is a themed 1920s party fundraiser like no other. Puttin on the Ritz will transform the Civic into the coolest speakeasy ever! The party begins at 6:30 PM on Friday, May 13, 2011.

The night begins as party-goers enter the Speakeasy at 6:30pm to enjoy hearty appetizers and “hooch to wet your whistle”. Guests will be entertained by the sultry songs of Helen Welch. Later, Verb Ballets performs an amazing dance on the Grand Staircase and the Keystone Cops may just “bust the joint open”.

At 8:00pm, Al Capone and his gang will escort everyone into the Auditorium for a silent movie accompanied by the Mighty Wurlitzer organ.

"I think I was aked to play Capone because I was the biggest guy they could talk into doing it." Fee said. "They promised me free food and a couple of cocktails...it was an offer I couldnt refuse...."

Fee has been notorious for his roles at The Akron Civic Theatre. His brief dancing career was cut short at "The Nutcracker" because organizers couldnt find future roles with even less dancing. Fees acting career ended abrubtly during "The Masque of the Red Death" event last Fall when he was killed at the end of the show by a transvestite.

"That was rough, I havent fully recovered from that one yet..." Fee said.

After a live auction, the stage will be transformed into a casino gaming hall, where the stakes are high and the fun is non-stop with entertainment by the Jack Shawnz. Deserts and coffee will round out the night.

Guest will also be able to participate in activities such as the Jail and Bail Fundraiser. The Civics own Keystone Cops will be serving arrest warrants for gangsters, moonshiners and thugs issued by other guests to be carried out on their close friends. Mug shot opportunities will be available.

Silent and live auction items will be featuring autographed merchandise from Bill Cosby, The Cake Boss, Celtic Woman and Gabriel Iglesias and signed guitars from The Temptations, Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt, George Jones, Imagination Movers, Dierks Bentley and Don Williams!

Ticket price is $75. Ticket includes Valet parking, off Bowery St., 2 drink tickets and unlimited “Hooch”, the specialty drink of the evening. Hearty appetizers, Desserts and $10,000 in Gambling Loot. You must be 21 to enter. Tickets are available by calling the Akron Civic Theatre at (330) 535-3179 or online at www.AkronCivic.com/CTC.
